Welcoming our newest member: Oumolat Security Printing

At our March Board meeting, the International Currency Association welcomed Oumolat Security Printing as its newest member.

Based in Abu Dhabi and established in 2016, Oumolat is a wholly owned subsidiary of the Central Bank of the United Arab Emirates. The company specialises in high-security banknote printing and related security solutions, contributing to the resilience and integrity of currency systems in an increasingly complex global environment.

Despite being a relatively young institution, Oumolat has already established a strong international footprint, printing banknotes for central banks across three continents. Its award-winning UAE banknote series reflects both technical excellence and a commitment to innovation in design and security.

Beyond its technical capabilities, Oumolat’s membership represents an important step in broadening ICA’s geographical reach. It strengthens our presence in the Middle East and brings valuable regional perspectives into our global network — enriching the dialogue between central banks, security printers, and industry partners.

As the currency ecosystem continues to evolve, the exchange of expertise and experience across regions becomes ever more essential. We are therefore delighted to welcome Oumolat Security Printing to the ICA community and look forward to its active contribution to our shared work on the future of cash.
