New Director General for the International Currency Association
The Board of the International Currency Association (ICA) has appointed Ms Jutta Buyse as Director General, effective April 1, 2020.
Dr. Wolfram Seidemann, Chairman of the ICA Board, comments: “The role of the ICA as the association of the currency industry will continue to grow. In Jutta Buyse, who brings strong association and advocacy experience, we found the right person to lead the further growth and development of the ICA, with a strong focus on advocacy and outreach.”
Jutta Buyse brings 18 years of experience in working with Brussels-based associations and public affairs consultancies, as well a conference management expertise, and is thus ideally placed to take on the leadership of the ICA. Most recently, she has held the position of Deputy Secretary General at the European Lotteries Association, where she has executed advocacy campaigns to position the sector in various EU policy dossiers. Buyse studied at the Free University of Berlin in Germany and the University of Pennsylvania in the United States and has completed the Executive Development Programme at Vlerick Business school in Belgium.
Commenting on her appointment, she says: “I am deeply honored and very excited to join the ICA. The ICA is a new and dynamic association with very important messages that need to be heard. I look forward to working with all the members and policy makers on the future for currency”.
Jutta Buyse takes over from Dr. Susanne Maise whom the ICA Board likes to thank for her strategic leadership, great achievements and exceptional dedication and commitment to the ICA.
The International Currency Association ICA, a not-for-profit organisation, was founded in 2016 to create a cohesive voice for the currency industry, and to identify and prioritise research and best practice sharing in order to drive the constant innovation needed to keep currency as a preferred payment of choice.
